I wanted to share a quick mid-month update with you, and more importantly, a heartfelt thank you.
People often ask, “How are you doing?”—and we instinctively respond with “Good” or “Fine, thank you.” But lately, I’ve found myself pausing before answering. Right now, the most honest answer is: I am doing.
Despite all these challenges, we’re still moving forward—and that’s something to celebrate.
Because of you, NWA Gives was a success. Over 100 generous individuals came together and raised more than $30,000 to support the Long Welcome program. Every single gift mattered. Every single person made a difference.
As you know, recent months have been especially difficult: a pause in refugee resettlement, funding freezes, and ever-shifting policies. Though our clients have their green cards and documentation in order, there’s still fear; the type of fear that uncertainty produces.
But through it all, we continue standing with them - thanks to your support.
With your continued support, Canopy NWA is:
Continuing to deliver services through The Long Welcome program.
Educating the community on the refugee experience in the U.S. and abroad.
Preserving the infrastructure needed to restart resettlement whenever it resumes—whether that's four months or four years from now.
I also want to personally invite you to these special upcoming events:
Martin Kerr’s music speaks to the heart, and 100% of ticket sales will go toward Canopy’s work. You won’t want to miss this unforgettable evening. Tickets are available here.
