Good Afternoon {{Constituent First Name}},
I hope you have had a good summer so far. At Canopy, we continue to carry out our mission through the Long Welcome program and services. We are truly grateful for our community—for all who have stood with us and continue to stand with us through thick and thin.
Here are a few updates we’d like to share with you:
A Letter of Appreciation for Clint Schnekloth from Joanna Krause
After 10 years of dedicated service, Clint has officially ended his term on Canopy’s Board of Directors. I will always be deeply grateful to him for founding Canopy. Without his energy, passion, vision, and remarkable talent for bringing people together, there would not be a refugee resettlement agency in Northwest Arkansas today.
Personally, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Clint for the past five years—whether traveling across the state, strategizing while running the Fayetteville trails, or learning from his insight and experience every step of the way.
If you see Clint out in the community, please take a moment to thank him. And if you’re looking to get more involved in this work, Clint is a wealth of knowledge about the people and organizations making a difference. He’s always ready to help others get connected.
Clint is, and always will be, a true champion for good.
Joanna Krause Executive Director
A Letter of Appreciation for Pastor Clint Schnekloth from Khalid Ahmadzai
In late March 2016, I sent an email to a handful of people I knew, inquiring about refugee work in Fayetteville. At the time, conversations about refugee resettlement were quietly taking root. Every single person I contacted pointed me to one name: Clint Schnekloth.
Over the following months, I traveled back and forth from Little Rock to Northwest Arkansas, meeting with Clint, local partners, and community members. One thing became immediately clear. Clint was at the heart of it all. From the very beginning, he was a bold and tireless community organizer, a vocal advocate for refugees, and a connector of people and purpose. As a pastor, mobilizer, and communicator, he inspired action and helped lay the groundwork for what would eventually become Canopy NWA.
From Canopy’s inception, Clint remained a steady and central force in our work. His vision and unwavering commitment helped shape the foundation upon which Canopy stands today. His handprint is forever woven into the story of refugee resettlement in Arkansas.
I want to take a moment to publicly thank Pastor Clint for his steadfast dedication to Canopy’s mission. Without his leadership, insight, and ability to rally a community, the landscape of refugee support in Arkansas would look very different. In part, because of his efforts, we are here and we are not going anywhere. Thanks in large part to his early efforts, Canopy exists and continues to serve our clients, welcoming and equipping newcomers with dignity and hope.
As Canopy’s longest-serving employee, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Clint, you are always welcome to stop by for a cup of chai. Our doors, and our gratitude, are always open to you.
With heartfelt appreciation, Khalid Ahmadzai Senior Director of Partnerships
