Dear {{First Name}},
Two weeks ago, I stood in a gym filled with balloons, celebrating Canopy’s 10th year alongside 400 people who arrived as refugees through Canopy NWA over the last decade, and the community members who welcomed them. The contributions of newcomers are felt across Northwest Arkansas and throughout the state, and we’re continuing that momentum through both conversation and action.
In recent weeks, we’ve been meeting with state leaders and partners in Little Rock to explore how we can work together to strengthen communities across Arkansas. At the same time, our local work continues to thrive: you will now find Canopy’s Inspired Hands entrepreneurs selling at the Rogers Farmers Market each Saturday.
April also marked Volunteer Appreciation Month, and I want to thank the many individuals, corporate teams, and faith groups who continue to show up, assembling Welcome Kits, providing transportation, mentoring job seekers and expecting moms, and walking alongside newcomers for the long term.
This is what the Long Welcome looks like: many people, many pathways, all moving toward shared strength and belonging.
As we celebrate 10 years of Canopy, I hope you’ll take a moment to read Canopy NWA Blog: A Message of Gratitude by Abwe Abedi.
